PRACTICE PROFILE

FDH Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Technical Aid West Limited, which was founded in 1986 as an employee co-operative and company limited by guarantee. In order to broaden the base of the organisation's membership, people who are not employees of the company, but are sympathetic to its aims and objectives are now able to be members.

The administration and management of the company is based on a monthly General Council Meeting of members who are elected annually to manage the Company on a day-to-day basis. The General Council gives a quarterly report to members at a Business Plan meeting.

Any profits have to be re-applied to the company's objectives, rather than to the benefit of members, for example by donation to a Technical Aid Charity.
