AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To produce buildings and environmental improvements of the highest quality:

	By seeking close and integrated working with client organisations.
	By making the process of design and management of projects accessible and understandable.
	By enabling all those who need to be involved to participate in the process of decision making. We act as consultants "on tap, not on top".

FDH sets out to achieve its aims by:

	Working with like-minded bodies and individuals.
	Forming alliances with others to work in multi-disciplinary teams for specific markets and projects.
	Developing and applying techniques in design and other processes to a project to enable the full participation of all parties.
	Keeping abreast of developments in technology and environmentally sound practice.
	Being committed to AGENDA 21 and projects with an environmental objective. We aim to give an environmental perspective to all projects.

Projects for people who need care

Hayes Farm Secure Unit for The National Autistic Society

The development of this scheme for the conversion and extension of an isolated Edwardian country house involved close working with and between NAS staff, Social Services, the Home Office and other bodies concerned with the care of young adults with autism

Mulberry Bush School, Oxfordshire

Specialist residential facility for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. A long term development programme in a sensitive environment achieved by co-operation and consultaion between therapeutic care staff, teaching staff and the FDH professional team

Manor Day Home for the Elderly, Gloucester

FDH worked with Trustees, managers and staff to produce kitchen, craft and bathing facilities suited to the needs of elderly day guests

Projects for people who are excluded

Roshni Asian Womens Centre, Gloucester

FDH worked with the Asian Community in Gloucester for five years from the emergence of the first ideas, visiting similar groups in Leicester, through feasibility and fundraising to outline, detailed design, construction and successful completion.

FDH used "Planning for Real" methods in group sessions with Asian Women

Cheltenham Town Hall

FDH worked with Town Hall staff, disability groups and conservation officials to achieve an award winning solution to main entrance access problems in what was seen as an impossible situation

Ludlow Foyer

FDH's involvement began with a key research report which it carried out into the needs of young people in south Shropshire
